“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye” – Matthew 7:3 (Source)
While I have not posted in a few months, I have been on an incredible journey. While it may not seem for face value that it was incredible, it really has been. There have been challenges, doubts, fears, etc. All the while, I allowed myself to be communicating to our Father. God allowed this time for me to learn more. More about myself, which gave me a great gift. It grew my discernment.
I chose the scripture as today’s theme because I find it necessary to address one major thing that the people of this world suffer from (Christians included). One common issue is that we tend to worry about other people too much (in different ways of course). People who doubt themselves wonder what people are always thinking about them. People who are jealous are searching how to outdo someone that they are jealous of. We are ever searching for that perfect partner to make us complete… The list goes on and on. When you think about it, I am sure everyone can really see how they worry about other people in a way that God did not intend. Even the churches of this world. Many churches want to point out how another church isn’t preaching the right message. We must focus on ourselves and what WE are doing and make sure we, as individual children of God are whole WITH God first. God is the only one that can make us whole. We can only do great things when we are in communication with our Father. We need to let the Father speak through us and allow His message to reach people without putting a sprinkling of our own thoughts or feelings into it.
My biggest concern is for the churches. The church is supposed to be a conduit in which God’s message is put out into the world. What we cannot do is decide to tell people that these churches are not doing it right because (insert random reason here). If a church wants to do right by God, it needs to solely focus on it’s own message and preach what the truth of God is. Then allow God to do His work in the individual. It doesn’t matter hat outside sources say. If there is a place of worship that isn’t preaching the right message, God will take care of that in time. Trust me, God knows who is preaching the right message and who is not.
Changing topics, I recall a time when I would worry all the time about what others thought about me. It would control my life. This went on for years. Part of this journey I was on reminded me of Matthew 6:25-33 (Source). This journey I have been on, God has really shown me His grace. I come into this message today full of gratefulness. I am so satisfied that God allowed me to go through all of what I have been through in order to see what He was trying to teach me. He reminded me that I am a sinner saved by grace!
Until next time my brothers and sisters of Christ, God bless!
