Matthew 6:34 – “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble”.
If we always are concerned about tomorrow, how will we ever be able to get through what is occurring today? There are so many situations in this world where the media, the government, and even in our own personal lives, where we tend to focus on what is 6 months and 12 months down the line instead of looking at what is happening today.
I can say for certain that I have had times where I was so focused on what was happening, or what I thought was going to happen, months in advance instead of seeing what was in front of me in the moment of that day. This was a cause of unnecessary strife in that moment that could have been prevented had I listened to what God was telling me.
Acknowledging potential future events then presenting them to God has been so rewarding. Now I am not saying that I don’t have times where I am stressed or am uncertain about a future that God reveals to me, but I find it a much better life when I acknowledge that I cannot handle it in that moment.
1 Corinthians 10:31 – “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”.
The goal is to live in the moment, for God. We need to always search for what His will is for us in the moment. It may be 30 or 40 years or maybe even 60 years before His ultimate will for us while here on earth is revealed to us. It is all according to God’s timing and when He sees we are ready to receive what He has for us. I recall telling men I work with that God only reveals to us what we are ready to receive.
So the concept is pretty nice to think about… Only be concerned with what is occurring today and figure out how to glorify God in all that is done.
Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, God Bless.
