God’s Love

Have you ever wondered what God’s Love is like? I am not talking about the brief conversations you have about how good God is with your loved ones or your close friends that you discuss God with… No, I am talking about what God’s love is REALLY like! How whole, complete, eternal, peaceful and warm it is. Can you agree that is what we long for? In the midst of that kind of love, there is no chance for any fathomable negative feeling, emotion, or impulse that we as humans experience here on earth. Let’s take a look at what Paul says in Ephesians 3:14-21:

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen”.

I don’t know about anyone else, but that gives me goosebumps! Thinking about it in the context of what our lives are in…. We experience, by in large, but a small taste of God’s love. Now God reveals that the degree in which we experience His love depends on how much we are willing to bend to His will.

Jesus gives a perfect example of the depths which we must go to really experience God’s Love in in John 10:18 – “No one takes my life from me; I lay it down of my own accord”.

Christ laid His life down, being the living word of God, even though He could have done whatever He wanted. He chose to complete God’s work, not because He was forced. It was His choice.

Now I am not saying go out and make yourselves die for your brother or sister! What I am saying is do everything you can to give absolute obedience to God and His will for you. God says in His commandments that He is a jealous God, and to serve no other master. Satan brought sin and death into the world. When we sin, we are serving satan’s motive, which opposes God’s will. Now, just because we go out and commit a sin, it doesn’t mean we are automatically going to die the second death because we have said no to God. God gave us a new way to be forgiven. Hence why Christ was brought into the world. That also doesn’t mean we can just use this as an excuse to go out and sin with the notion… It doesn’t matter… God will forgive me anyway. We must ask for forgiveness and repent.

I just had a loss of a family member and this reminded me of God’s love. When we pass….We get to truly experience ALL of God’s love… Up close and personal… FOREVER! So why allow the petty things in this life detract us from what is the most important thing to all of mankind? GOD’S LOVE!

Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, Amen!
