Genesis 3:3-4 – “but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die”. (Source)
Hello all, it has been a few weeks since I have posted, but in thinking about events in the world, and trouble on the American homefront such as family and marital strife, I couldn’t help but hear multiple times in my ear about how important men are for any family in any home. Now, this isn’t to overshadow the importance of women in the family as they are a vital part of the family as well. Taking a look at things from a biblical perspective, I find that it is important to know about the man’s role in all of this.
Satan knew that there was no way that he could achieve his goal by going through Adam directly. However, he knew that he would be able to twist the Word of God just a little bit in order to entice Eve to partake in the one thing God commanded Adam and Eve not to do. Eat from the Tree of Life that was in the midst of the garden. So he persuaded Eve and then she, in turn, enticed Adam to eat from the tree as well. This was done all by getting Eve to believe that the death God was talking about is the type of death that society refers to, which is physical death. Plus they would have all this knowledge and “be like God”. Sounds familiar right? If I recall correctly, Satan who was God’s #1 Angel…. He wanted to be exalted like God. He felt entitled.
Genesis 3:17 – “And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life”. (Source)
This can be related to any of our decisions that have gotten us into trouble. We make decisions that are not aligned with God’s will for us. How does this tie into the title of today’s post? Well think about it.. Think about the stress that a family who has just the Mother with her children and no father around…. Think about how much work the mom has to do to make the home run and how stressed out she may be. Likewise… A home with both the Mother and Father with the kids, but the Father is not living the way God commanded him to live… That is a recipe for disaster. So in an ideal world, you would have the Father who is living as God commanded and spiritually leading his family. That keeps the Mother at ease and makes her job a lot easier. This, in turn, gives the children an easy feeling and less likely for them to act out negatively due to the stress they are experiencing at home. All this, of course, does not factor in actual diagnosed medical conditions that may persist within the family. Even then, parents that are living the way God calls on us to do, will be able to meet the challenge that is presented with a family member that has a medical condition.
So the moral of the story is…. The men out there in the world, must have a close look at ourselves and figure out what will need to be done in order to align ourselves with God’s will for our lives so that we are 100% for our respective families. This is so vital. We affect our entire family, good or bad. Let’s dig in and lead our family to God’s Kingdom!
Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, God Bless!
