Revelation 3:15-16 – “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth”. (Source)
So many of us have been guilty of this, some still are. One thing that is certain, God doesn’t want a part time Christian! God wants us to be all in. He showed the world He was all in when He gave up His only begotten Son as a living sacrifice so that we all can be saved and join Him in His kingdom for eternity. I can’t think of an instance where someone showed more love than that. I don’t know about you, but I feel really important and special because of that.
God does ask a lot of those who believe. We are all an important part of this process God has. God puts things on our hearts according to His will for us. Each of us are different, though the desired end result God has for us is all the same. To be in Heaven with Him for all eternity. With this workload that He gives us, we get the biggest gift of all on earth… Free will. It is the biggest gift and has so much power in it. However, it also attaches consequences to it, good or bad. We get the privilege to choose to do what God asks of us, or not. For me personally, seeing the extent of God’s mercy and love, the things He asks of me to do seem so minor.
When we live a life that is partially fulfilling God’s will, it is not pleasing to God. When we tell God we love Him and we want to serve Him, but then decide a portion of our lives we want to hold onto in order to have control, that is being lukewarm. Perhaps we go to church on Sunday, worshipping and praising God. Then Monday hits and we are trying to continuously control a situation that has been unresolved… That is also being lukewarm. God wants us to bath and soak and fill up every aspect of our lives with His word, Meditate and put our whole minds and hearts deep into His word.
John 4:24 – “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth”. (Source)
This is the position of God that Jesus came to preach. He wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. I get it, we all know that we no longer take animals to an altar or temple to sacrifice in order to have our sins absolved. We must consult God FIRST on everything… I mean EVERYTHING! He is the one that matters most in our lives. He is the one that carries us when things seem impossible. Wouldn’t it make sense that we need to go to Him first? Like in Matthew 6, it states “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”.
I had a revelation just the other day. Satan tries to be so subtle with his deception so he can gain a foothold to drive us away from God. I noticed he tried getting me to think of past strongholds in my life. In the past, I would cave and give in to those strongholds. Today, I am able to notice this and plainly say that this is satan attempting to ruin my life and getting me to cave to something so childish. I then go to God and thank Him for showing me this deception.
Today, I am grateful to be serving and worshipping a God that truly loves me. A Father that adores, protects and never abandons me. A Father that I know I will NEVER lose. I feel blessed and honored to serve Him and glorify His name and kingdom any chance I get. I am grateful that He gave up His only begotten son so that I can be saved. This son, Jesus, is my Lord, Savior, and King for all eternity. I am grateful for all of you. You all are my blessed brothers and sisters in Christ. Last, I am grateful for the opportunity to share God’s love with someone that is in need.
Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, God bless.
