Ephesians 6:12 – “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Source)
This world has changed vastly since the beginning when God created it. So many ages and eras and conflicts… So much stuff has occurred. Today, I wanted to take the time to discuss strongholds. Now, this is a topic that has many ugly faces. In the secular world, strongholds are referred to as addictions.
Different people have different strongholds that affect them on a deep, spiritual level. Strongholds can seem so overpowering that they control everything we do and we cannot seem to shake it. There is no way we can go at this alone.
1 Corinthians 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it”. (Source)
God knows that there are things in this world that tempt our flesh to sin. This has many faces to include money, pride, greed, envy, sexual/pornography, and so on. God has also given us a way through Christ to escape all of this. It is hard to imagine living in a world where we cannot find the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I know that I could not fathom not having Christ in my corner. He is the way, the truth and the life! The sacrifice He made for the world makes it worth it to trust in Him when challenges are happening or pains and hurts are happening. If He can conquer death, I am confident He can help anyone that is in need. He surely helped so many while He was living amongst God’s children as a man.
Everything we do can glorify God. We, as believers, are called to do so much at times for the glory of God’s kingdom. However, the reward we will get at the end of it all outweighs anything our Lord puts on our hearts to do…. Eternal life.
