How many of us make decisions each day without involving God? What about sin we fall into? Ever wonder why we, as people, sin daily? How about decisions we include God in? How do you feel about those regardless of the circumstances?
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”.
The reason why, at least in my life I can attest to, the times that I make decisions that aren’t right is when I am making decisions apart from God. The times that I commit a sin is when I make decisions apart from God. The times that I am miserable in any situation is when I am living and making decisions apart from God. Sound like something in your life as well?
Our Lord is absolutely perfect. When Christ came into this world, He lived start to finish for the will of God. He was unwavering in His ways. Each and every action taken was based on the will of the Father. He was the perfect example of what we should be striving for, to be like Christ. I will say firsthand, that this is no easy task.
Matthew 22:37 – “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”.
That was Jesus speaking about this. This is how much and how deep our love for the Father should be. Now not everyone in the world is saved, however, everyone has the same character defect when we sin because we are making decisions apart from Him. Those of us that ARE saved (possibly the reason you read this blog) I would venture to say while we don’t stop loving God, we just tend to forget this in the moment. That is the reason I know I feel extremely guilty after the fact. I recall a time recently that I felt discouraged because of a situation happening in my life that I just couldn’t understand. In fact, I felt a bit of depression about it. After prayer and speaking with my wife, I was reminded that God has a perfect plan for everything. In the moment we may not see His plan or His purpose. However, it is still His plan. We must wait on His guidance.
I can imagine that many of us are dealing with some pretty heavy stuff right now, especially with the year we just had. However, God is in charge. God will not allow us to fail. While it is understandable to have emotions about a situation, just know that God has a perfect plan for everything happening. I am not sure how much COVID affected each of you, but no matter the circumstances, God is preparing all of us for the second coming of Christ. The end result doesn’t change. The path along the way might. Stay the course friends. The Kingdom of God is at hand.
Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, God Bless.
