Am I in all the way in God’s love or am I just putting my foot in just to “test the waters”? This is the question I tend to ask myself after going through a test God has allowed me to go through.
One thing I have learned over time and growing in my spirituality, is that God will allow His children to go through tests to do sort of a “faith check” if you will. He wants to see how committed we are to accomplishing His work and trusting His plan and will for our lives. Sometimes, these tests are not very favorable to us, especially in the moment that they are occuring. Be that as it may, God wants to make sure that we are “all in” when it comes to our commitment to Him.
Revelation 3:15-16 – “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth”.
God is very clear here. He wants us to be ALL IN. This is the only instance where putting our eggs into one basket is the right move. I will even go a step further and say with God, I will “count my chickens before they are even hatched”. I have learned, through many chances of getting tested as the Father has so graciously allowed me to go through, that God’s plan is failproof. It may not look pretty in the moment to our eyes and mind, but it’s God’s plan. In the moment, it may hurt like no other. Like the saying goes, “no pain, no gain”. How can we experience God’s true love for us and see His will for us if we don’t go through the pain of the moment and believe that it is God’s will and know that if it is God’s will, then the other side of this pain will be something beautiful?
I will say, that 2020 for me has been a beautiful year for me. I say that because I have experienced different emotions on the spectrum of emotions. A lot of them that people run from. There were times I wanted to be that person to run from them. However, something deeply seeded into my consciousness would not allow me to. That was God. While He is a gentleman, He wanted me to see things He needed me to see and experience things I needed to experience in order to move to a place He needed me to be in order to accomplish some of His work through me. For THAT, I am thankful.
I will say that there was a time in my life that I was in so much despair that I was ready to throw in the towel. I was hopeless and helpless and wanted things to go away. However, God intervened. He intervened in a way that I had not realized at the time.
Many of us grow up feeling that we don’t have a father. Well that just isn’t true. We ALWAYS have a Father that doesn’t run… That doesn’t hide from His responsibility to us. My friends, let’s continue to spread His love as far and wide as we can! For the Kingdom of God is at hand! Christ is returning soon!
