John 4:23 – “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him”.
Some may find what I am about to say controversial, but Christ was very clear, it doesn’t matter who you are… Or what you have done… God is seeking those that wish to be born again in the spirit and to pray in spirit, and in truth.
All earthly things that have happened and are going to happen are temporary. Even life sentences are temporary. There are only two places that are forever. That is God’s Kingdom, or Heaven, and Satan’s domain, or hell. That is because God made them outside of the constraints of time. In our reality, it is eternity. I pray for all of those who have committed heinous, vicious acts that they may find God, repent for the unspeakable acts they have committed. No matter how severe. What joy is it to go through life having a feeling of being trapped in a life full of crime and wrongdoing, then just completely repenting and truly serve our Lord?
Now, this does not excuse the sin that took place at the hands of those that committed them. As God says, no sin goes unpunished. Over the years of growing and learning, I have learned the phrase, “hate the sin, not the sinner”. What does this really mean? To me, as I am sure a lot of you out there feel the same way, hate the act which occurred, however, pray for the person that committed the sin. So many people are overridden by grief depending on the sin a person has committed that they hold hate for another person so deep that it consumes them. Emotions truly are powerful. Now I am not saying your feelings aren’t justified, if say, someone was to kill your child (to be extreme). However, where are we in God’s kingdom if we harbor and hold that hate toward that person? Whether we like it or not, God created that person just like He did you or I. Now, because of free will, that person chose to commit a heinous sin. As hard as it is to see, we certainly aren’t acting the way God has commanded. It will wear us down. Hate the sin. Satan is the one truly responsible for all this destruction anyway. If it weren’t for him, this place would still be one big and beautiful garden with no violence or hate or anything!
Jeremiah 31:34 – “And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
What we all need to do is truly repent, truly turn our will and lives over to God and let Him use us to accomplish His will in our lives.
With all this excitement and potential eternal joy is the future, God issues stark and clear warnings throughout His word of what shall happen if we don’t observe His will and give Him glory.
Matthew 10:30-the end of the chapter. This is a very sharp reminder about how our actions should be.
Exodus 20:3-17. A peaceful and observant way to take each day is to start out the day with reviewing the ten commandments. This gives all of our core and basic tools for everyday life. If we keep these close to our hearts, we are on the path of keeping God close to our hearts.
I pray for all people to observe our Heavenly Father and all that He has set forth for us.
Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, God Bless!
