Is it fair that temptation is always stirring around the corner?
Why in the world are we always having to deal with Satan’s temptation if we are saved? That is the question I always lean toward asking God myself! I find myself saying, God, I love you with everything that I am. Why is it that Satan is even in the picture? I look to glorify your name with any chance I get.
I watching a show on Pure Flix called “The Encounter” (I highly recommend this show). Disclaimer: I am going to reveal spoilers about a scene on one of the episode. The intent is to tie into the point of this post.
I was watching a particular scene where the character called “The Man”, or Jesus, was watching this family grieve over the loss of a child. Satan was also in the same room and was whispering into Jesus’ ear saying more or less that things were brewing to be a disaster. Tensions were really high. Jesus stayed quiet. Satan then whispered, “You know, you could have avoided all this had the little girl lived”. It was then, that Jesus said, “I can use even this to glorify my Father”. Well, more or less, He did just that of course.
I didn’t think too much about it at that moment, BUT while talking with God last night, then again this morning through prayer and meditation and still having the same question on my mind, it was like God came into the room and spoke to me in my face.
We all know that our God is a selfish God. He wants all of us as His children to glorify His name, love Him above all things, and need Him all day everyday! I will be the first to admit, I am perfectly fine with that.
I heard the words “If Satan wasn’t in the position to do the things he does, then how will you have the opportunity to trust my will for you”?
What was my immediate response? “God, thank you for revealing this to me. This is one of the most profound things I have ever heard”. Unfortunately, it was right as I had to leave for work, so I asked permission to post this after I got home from work instead of in the moment. Amidst my busy schedule, by the grace of God I was able to remember to post this after a full workday.
This was a nice and short post that I wanted to share with you guys. Until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, God bless all of you!
