Do you give your whole self up to God each and every day or are you in reservation of something you aren’t ready to let go of?
This is a question that each person must ask themselves each day. As humans that have flesh, emotions, and free will… This is a difficult thing to do, to TRULY let go of anything that is self-fulfilling for any reason. Whether it is from stubbornness, negative life experiences, something that gives an escape from a situation… You get the point.
One thing to know AND remember…. God is love! Today, I want to focus what I am sharing with my brothers and sisters in God on two key factors: God’s love and Jesus’ yoke. These things will make our lives a whole lot easier if we focused on these two things.
What is God’s love to us? A lot of people look at love as an emotion. I know I did for a long time. Love is an action. The biggest act of love when I reflect on what love is…. Was from John 3:16.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”.
How can one show any bigger act of love? It is action, it is sacrifice… God was WILLING to go to ANY length to show us His love. Jesus made the decision to obey the Father… Even unto death. Jesus’ unwavering obedience to obey the will of God was also another perfect example of how to rely on faith in the toughest of circumstances.
All we have is God’s word of what awaits us after we leave the world behind. It is guaranteed that we will leave this world behind. The most important thing I have had to remember was to recall on 2 Corinthians 5:7 – “For we live by faith, not by sight” and from Romans 1:17 – “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
This, even today, is so tough for me to remember at times because sometimes, circumstances can get so tough for me. I have to remind myself in those moments that Satan is wanting to separate me from God. He will forever think that there is a chance to do this, but I can speak for myself, and hopefully everyone else, knowing that This is not possible because we are saved. Hopefully if you find yourself reading this and are not saved yet, just know that there is good news waiting for you once you take this step!
This brings me to my next point, the Yoke of Christ! How blessed are we to have a King that offers to make life completely easy for us? To make life happy, joyous, and free?
Matthew 11:30 – “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”.
This scripture is contrasted to all the kings in history. How they had iron fists and rule with fear or greed or lust as the intention. Our eternal King, Jesus, rules with a servant’s heart. He wishes to remove our burdens from us. All we have to do is be willing to trust Him, with EVERYTHING! The sacrifice He requires of us is so minor compared to the eternity of joy we will experience once God decides our work for Him on Earth is complete. I must say, I get goosebumps and excitement even typing this out for all to read. I feel so blessed when things are revealed to me to bring the glory of God and Christ to the forefront amidst these terrible times! Glory to God in the highest and peace to His people on Earth!
until next time my brothers and sisters in Christ, may the peace of the Lord be with each and every one of you!
